A CREATIVE GROUP EXPERIENCE
Designed & hosted by New York-based Australian Artist Ben Ponté
This experience utilizes drawing, poetry, group dialogue, and spoken word, as a way of exploring and understanding aspects of the creative process and the imagination.
Creativity is often assumed to be too elusive to be approached in a practical way. The DFW approach reveals this not to be the case. The experience clarifies creative principles without diminishing or over-simplifying the autonomous power of creativity itself.
In our over-specialized world ‘creativity’ is the meeting place that brings our seemingly separate domains back together again. Being drawn together implies uniting that which has been divided: knowledge and intelligence, technique and innovation, expected and unexpected, ideas and meaning, the world within and the world without.
As an acclaimed speaker and communicator, Ben is known for his ability to distill profound creative insight in a direct, practical and personal way. DFW- Online makes complex and subtle creative principles accessible to each person.
These creative principles can then be reapplied in multiple domains and contexts, allowing entry into the creative mind with endlessly renewable applications.
Ben is constantly working to find new language for what he calls the experiential aspects of drawing- the aspects of drawing that relate to the act of drawing itself as opposed to the more technical concerns- how drawing helps you pay attention and stay attentive, how drawing helps you see things in new ways, how drawing helps you connect with empathy and appreciation, how drawing renews clarity, broadens the field of perception and enriches understanding.
DFW- Online evolved out of the many years of hosting and facilitating in-person drawing experiences on the streets of New York City. Ben’s background in yoga studies, his broad philosophical reading, his investigations into Bohmian dialogue, all enrich his approach.

Re-spect means to look again. Drawing is a way of re-specting the visual world and the images it forms in the mind. Respect is intrinsically connected to the imagination.

What people are saying
“Brilliant, Engaging, Necessary!”
“'Drawn from Within' meets the moment - the moment of now and moments yet to be. With all that we are experiencing in the world, I can’t think of a more timely and meaningful experience. This brought our team pure JOY, helped us build connections, and unlocked our receptivity to new perspectives and possibilities - exactly what we needed and more! Ben took us on a deeply human creative journey blending his engaging intelligence, artistry, and expertise to help us shine a light on the unseen. It was harmoniously approachable and provocative. If you are on a personal quest to embrace more “being” and less “doing”, this experience will be a beautiful bridge to bring you closer to the self and to others! If you manage a team or business, as a learning and development professional, I highly recommend this as Ben’s way of using the power of the pen, paper and prose is a game-changer that teams will not only benefit from intellectually and creatively but they'll have fun while doing it...my team loved it! Just say YES - you’ll be happy you did!”
