Drawn FROM WITHIN- IN-person

Drawn From Within:
In-person In-volves & In-vokes…

  • Dialogue and self-inquiry…

Guests on DFW in person will experience a renewed inspiration that continues to evolve through discussion and self-inquiry long after the experience is over. DFW is a way of planting seeds of insight that cultivate, germinate and permeate throughout an organization's culture in subtle and profound ways long after the experience is over.

  • A direct encounter with the heart of creativity…

Far from a prescriptive and formulaic motivational exercise, DFW is a direct encounter with the heart of creativity itself. This approach allows each guest to respond in their own unique way which further brings their uniqueness to the fore to be recognized and acknowledged by colleagues and workmates.

  • Meaning making as a creative act…

Guests will also experience a tangible appreciation of meaning. The meaning is found through the process of seeing, and then explicated and elaborated on through discussion and creative dialogue.

 A CREATIVE GROUP EXPERIENCE

Designed & hosted by New York-based Australian Artist Ben Ponté

The experience utilizes drawing, poetry, group discussion, and spoken word, as a way of exploring and understanding aspects of the creative process and the imagination.

Creativity is often assumed to be too elusive to be approached in a practical way. ‘DFW in person’ reveals this not to be the case. This experience clarifies creative principles without diminishing or over-simplifying the autonomous power of creativity itself.

In our over-specialized world ‘creativity’ is the meeting place that brings our seemingly separate domains back together again. Being 'drawn together' implies uniting that which has been divided: knowledge and intelligence, technique and innovation, expected and unexpected, ideas and meaning, the world within and the world without.

As an acclaimed speaker and communicator, Ben is known for his ability to distill profound creative insight in a direct, practical, and personal way. ‘DFW In-Person’ makes complex and subtle creative principles accessible to each person.

These creative principles can then be reapplied in multiple domains and contexts, allowing entry into the creative mind with endlessly renewable applications.

Ben has spent his lifetime exploring and communicating what he calls ‘the experiential aspects of drawing’- these are the aspects of drawing that relate to the act of drawing itself as opposed to the technical aspects of drawing- How drawing helps you pay attention and stay attentive, how drawing helps you see things in different ways, how drawing renews clarity, broadens the field of perception and expands the depth of comprehension.

DFW- in person’ evolved out of the many years of hosting and facilitating online experiences during the pandemic, and years more of in-person drawing experiences on the streets of New York City.

Ben has now gathered the insights gleaned from working with thousands of guests, companies, thought leaders, creatives, and institutions from around the world, and is now bringing his experience directly to your office, conference, event, or workspace.

 Break free of the screen!

And explore the meaning and significance of creativity.

1. No Drawing Experience

Drawn From Within In-Person focuses on the experiential aspects of drawing, which means anybody can attend and benefit from the experience, regardless of talent, technique, or ability.

2. REconnect. REvision. REspect.

Great for organizations wanting to reconnect, revision, and respect after long periods of remote work and personal isolation.

3. Challenge preconceptions to see anew.

DFW in-person challenges you to look again, to notice what you may have missed and embrace the unknown as the fulcrum of creative discovery.

Kind Words

“This experience allowed my team to think about creativity in a different way and determine how that creativity can be transferred to everyday conversations. It was also a great way to learn more about our teammates in a different way than a team meeting or virtual happy hour would allow. Overall, a great experience that I would recommend."
